Help Make A Difference

As BINHI means “seed” in Filipino, the foundation dubs its team as agrarians of empowerment through education.

We are surrounded by infinite things designed to provide instant self-gratification but as consumers, we always seem to want more as if there is a bottomless appetite in us. Seeking self-satisfaction is a common life goal and BINHI knows a way to find this happiness.

We dare you to join us in planting seeds of education among marginalized Filipino children, and in the process of making your mark in this world, see how the seed of self-fulfillment grows in you.

WE COULD USE YOUR SUPPORT

BINHI works with partners and donors to give children the gift of reading and literacy. Your donation allows us to open more classes to help our non-readers and frustrated readers in the public schools and marginalized communities. Your generosity will help provide teaching materials, as well as learning materials for 120 days of reading and literacy classes.

Pre-reading class

Support the opening of a BINHI pre-reading class for SY 2018-2019. Your donation will allow pupils aged 4 to 6 to catch up on learning the alphabet and sounds, while adding more English words to their basic vocabulary. This program will also teach them basic motor and socialization skills.
Beginning reading class
Support the opening of a BINHI beginning reading class for SY 2018-2019. Your donation will allow non- or weak readers aged 7 to 8 to have stronger alphabet and sound awareness, and to efficiently recognize frequently occurring words and be able to read them right at sight! This program also builds the pupils’ comprehension and confidence through storytelling sessions and spoken dialogues.

Teacher Assistant

BINHI is looking for individuals interested in providing assistance to BINHI-trained teachers. Teacher assistants ot TAs are expected to come during school hours when BINHI classes are administered, partake in the conduct of lessons, and help supervise the pupils. Those interested can choose where they can volunteer from the list of partner schools, and help create a second home for our learners who need that extra motivation, so that they can be more confident readers.

Testers

The BINHI literacy program is conducted for 24 weeks. Pupils are tested three times during the program period: pretest, midterm test, and posttest. All three events call for volunteers interested in spending their time testing children on a one-on-one basis. For every partner school, at least 100 children are given the pre-test. Imagine that! We need all the help we can get.

Production Clerks

Being a production clerk gives you the opportunity to make sure the BINHI literacy program kicks-off on time. Individuals who want to volunteer for this position are expected to come to the BINHI office and help on creating and generating the bins which will be given to every class before the program begins. Production clerks make sure all the activity sheets, materials, and toys needed by the teachers and pupils are all in the BINHI box.

Media Crew

More of behind-the-scene person? BINHI is looking for volunteers willing to work on the crafting of content which will be posted online. The foundation aims to regulary publish news articles, update its social media accounts with engaging materials like photos, and videos, and maintain its website. If any of the said responsibilities excite you, what are you waiting for? Join now.
